faSade Released ‘My America’, a Song and a Music Video Tribute to Immigrants, the Real Heroes of Our Society

New York, November 24, 2017: Alternative electronic musician faSade released today a new song and a music video titled ‘My America’, as a tribute to immigrants: https://youtu.be/daDxbxcZOSc

An immigrant himself, faSade refused to ignore the dehumanizing rhetoric directed against immigrants by the current administration in the course of a cynical political campaign. He watched in disbelief how a society that used to be driven by collective aspirations of equality, fairness, inclusiveness and decency was seduced by an overt message of hatred, selfishness, xenophobia and disrespect for the core values of our society and its norms.

Having found himself living in a new reality controlled by an anti-hero, faSade created song lyrics and images that capture the real heroes of our society, the hard working army of immigrants that build our houses, cook our meals, clean our offices and take care of our children. ‘My America’ is a cry for that idealized past, where immigrants were recognized as the core foundation of our society, a society that was admittedly never ideal, but always inspired by ideals…

“The driving force behind my decision to create politically engaged material is my strong belief that musicians, having a unique emotional connection with their fans, should move beyond just entertaining them”, faSade explained. He added that musicians have the power to use that emotional connection to engage their fans about matters that are relevant to their lives, to inspire them and to drive them to action.

About faSade:
faSade is an alternative electronic musician who crafts songs that capture the intensity of emotions and frames them in raw electronic arrangements. While faSade uses the vocabulary of modern electronic music, with complex arrangements and edgy instrumentation and rhythms, at the foundation of his songs lies solid song craft with melodies and lyrics that captivate the listener.

faSade witnessed the Nice, France terrorist attack in July 2016 and wrote ’84 Flowers’, a song and a music video dedicated to the memory of the 86 people (84 when the song was written) that lost their lives in this terrorist attack.

The song, the original music video https://youtu.be/eHhw4Bl9HOs, which includes video footage that faSade shot after the attack, and his personal story, have been featured in the following publications:

The music video is available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/eHhw4Bl9HOs

'84 Flowers' Song and Video Describe the Nice, France Terrorist Attack

Boston, December 19, 2016:  Standing on Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France on a balmy night in July, I was happy to admire the beautiful fireworks celebrating Bastille Day, the French celebration of national unity. I was lucky to leave just at the right moment and only to see the 20-ton truck taking the innocent lives of my fellow spectators just a few steps away from me…

Today, I released a song and a music video that are dedicated to the memory of the 84 people that lost their lives in this terrorist attack on July 14, 2016...

The music video is available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/eHhw4Bl9HOs

The song is available on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/84-flowers-single/id1188130797

I will donate 20% of the iTunes sale proceeds to the Association française des Victimes du Terrorisme, a United Nations recognized resource for victims of terrorism.
